Parkour Programs for Kids
OUR STORY & VISION
The seed of the idea for Jump Flow was planted by a five year old. He asked his father, “How can I learn parkour?” His father, Brady Romberg, was a stuntman and parkour veteran, and this question drew him back to the fundamental impact parkour had on his life. Brady began exploring the parkour options around his home in Milwaukie, OR. It became clear, that to capture the spirit of what Brady sought for his son, he would need to develop his own program. It would cater to younger children and implement many early childhood educational principles. After years of research and planning, and contemplation, our program is here; it’s called Jump Flow.
PARKOUR IN NATURE
Over the past 20 years, American media has presented Parkour as a new form of idealized human movement. While that perspective is valid, there is something primal about Parkour movement that is overlooked by this view. Watch animals in the wild, particularly those who live in the trees. Parkour techniques and movement are primal, much older than the name Parkour and it’s long list of subvariant moves. Parkour movement is instinctive and second nature to many wild creatures. Jump Flow wishes to reconnect our children with that nature, that oneness with her through movement.
